As one of the major academic units of Taipei Chengshih University of Science and Technology, the Center for General Education (hereafter referred to as the Center) handles administrative business and curriculum affairs within two sections: Social Sciences and Human Sciences. In addition, the Center is also the seat of the Language Education Committee, which manages the Cross-campus English Proficiency Program and executes policies regarding the university’s graduation requirement of English proficiency.
The Center’s director is selected by the president of the university from among the full-time teachers in the Center. The aforementioned sections and committee are each assigned a specialized convener from among the teaching staff. They are appointed by the director in consultation with the president. A full-time employee handles the administrative affairs of the Center.
